Tube-Steel Framing

The bones of your building are galvanized tube steel. Most fabricators use a 14 gauge framing with 12 available as an upgrade. The standard spacing for framing is 5 FOC (feet on center). Upgrades to 4 FOC is available and sometimes required, depending on the intended use for the building.

STRUCTURAL DETAILS

Corrugated Metal PANELS

Metal buildings are sheathed with heavy-duty corrugated siding and roof panels. A range of colors is offered for a clean, contemporary look for any project.

Most fabricators offer two gauges:

  • The standard 29 gauge panel is about 0.36 mm thick and suitable for most applications.

  • 26 gauge panels are closer to 0.47 mm—it’s a noticeable step up in thickness and durability.

windows and doors

From standard sizes to custom frame-outs for customer-provided products, metal buildings can accommodate a wide range of openings.

Most builds feature commercial-style roll-up garage doors, but residential options are available as well. Entry doors can be as simple as a basic unit or upgraded to more durable steel and 9-lite designs, depending on your preference.

For residential doors, we can source and include them in a project, but these are subcontracted. In most cases, it makes sense to have the opening framed, but then work with a local door specialist for installation and warranty support.

insulation

It's one of the most misunderstood—and often overspent—parts of a metal building. There is a wide range of options, from simple moisture barriers to systems built for full climate control.

The right choice depends on how you’ll use the building, not just what’s commonly recommended. Before you spend money in the wrong place, it’s worth understanding what actually matters.
